Post-doctoral Fellow in multiscale topology optimization and additive manufacturing of lattice structures at at HKU

Applications are invited for appointment as Post-doctoral Fellow in multiscale topology optimization and additive manufacturing of lattice structures in the Department of Orthopaedics and Traumatology (Ref.: 500412), to commence as soon as possible for one to three year(s), with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance. A highly competitive salary (above HK$30,000 per month, low tax rate) commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.  

Requirements:

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in aerospace/civil/mechanical engineering, biomedical engineering, computational mechanics or other related disciplines from a local university or a well-recognized non-local institution, which meets the criteria as set out in the guidelines of the Innovation and Technology Commission (ITC) at https://www.itf.gov.hk/l-eng/TTS-PH.asp?textmode=0). The appointee will work on a collaborative research effort to build an effective numerical optimization framework of the porous lattice structures for biomedical devices.  Knowledge of numerical modelling of solids and structures using software such as ABAQUS or ANSYS, and experience with programming languages such as Python, C++, or Fortran will be required.
