A Postdoc Position in Multiscale Mechanics and Materials

An immediate postdoc position is open in Advanced Hierarchical Materials by Design Lab at the University of Alabama on multiscale modeling of materials and processes. 

This project aims to use multiscale modeling techniques to understand the properties and physics governing the behavior of materials under extreme conditions, such as radiation, heat, and stresses, and to develop new alloys for these conditions.  This is a multi-institutional project. The candidate will have the opportunity to collaborate with NASA research centers, national labs, and different universities across the nation such as MIT, GTech, and LSU. The candidates must have earned a Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering or related fields and have a solid background in theoretical and computational mechanics. Particularly candidates with a knowledge of molecular dynamics simulations, phase-field simulations, or a programming language are encouraged to apply.
