Postdoctoral Research Associate and Graduate Student Openings in Mechanobiology and Biomechanics at UPenn

Several postdoctoral and graduate student openings with primary focus on biomechanics is available immediately in the Shenoy Research Group at the University of Pennsylvania. We are looking for strongly motivated candidates to work on Nation Cancer  supported Cancer Metastasis Network Center. The center will focus on 1) cell-matrix interactions in cancer, 2) nuclear mechano-transduction and 3) cancer cell motility.  

The ideal candidates will have a background in solid mechanics with expertise in 1) finite element simulations, in particular numerical implementation of non-linear material models and 2) phase-field models. This individuals will have the opportunity to be directly involved in complimentary experimental investigations in the medical school at UPenn and our collaborators on the network elsewhere. Professor Shenoy is the director of the $50M NSF Science and Technology Center for Engineering mechanobiology (https://cemb.upenn.edu/).
