PhD openings in Computational Solid Mechanics

The Computational Mechanics and Methods Group (CM3) in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Kentucky is seeking highly self-motivated individuals who have great interest in the broad research area of computational solid mechanics and methods. Ideal applicants should have strong background in solid mechanics and great interest in computational modeling & simulation using nonlocal meshfree methods, such as peridynamics. Related research experience in material failure modeling and simulation is preferred. More information about the research group can be found at here. Although the openings are desired for the 2022 Fall semester, applications for 2022 Spring or 2023 Spring semesters will also be considered. Successful applicants will be provided with competitive stipend, tuition wavier, and health insurance.
