Graduate Student Openings in Computational Materials Science at Virginia Tech

Two PhD positions in the area of computational materials science (one is on Kinetic Monte Carlo Modeling of interface phenomena and another one on phase field modeling of solid-state phase transformation) is available in the Department of Aerospace and Ocean Engineering at the Virginia Tech. Candidates should be strongly self-motivated individuals in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, materials science and engineering or other closely related disciplines. Preferrable qualifications include: possess a MS degree or demonstrate equivalent research experience; strong C++ programming skills; experience with parallel computing with MPI is a plus.  Group website can be found here:
