Postdoc opening at University of Rochester

Submitted by niaz abdolrahim on

There is an immediate opening of a postdoctoral researcher in the professor Abdolrahim’s and Funkenbusch’s group in the department of mechanical engineering at University of Rochester ( ACMML).

Research is focused on the physics of compacted powder agglomeration and breakup under shock loading. This is an opportunity to work at the intersection of non-equilibrium molecular dynamics simulations and experimental characterization to study mechanical, structural, and thermodynamic properties. The successful candidate should have a PhD degree with expertise in materials characterization or synthesis. Familiarity with molecular dynamics simulations is a plus. The project is a close collaboration between the faculty in Mechanical Engineering and leading research companies.

Interested candidates should send a single PDF file containing CV, brief statement of research experiences and interests, and a list of three references to Prof. Niaz Abdolrahim: niaz [at] rochester.edu (niaz[at]rochester[dot]edu). Evaluation of candidates will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.
