Critical pressure of delamination of a film and a vessel

Following the approach of Griffith, Sneddon and Muskhelishvili calculated the pressure of tear propagation in elastic media. Gent and Lewandowski collected these works and using Hencky's approximation of membrane deformation, introduced a collection of relationships on the debonding of films from substrates by pressure (left panel). We recently used the same approach and extended these relationships to approximate the delamination pressure of an internally pressurized vessel with a small tear (right panel).
