Departmental Lecturer position in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Oxford

The Department of Engineering Science intends to appoint a full-time Departmental Lecturer in Mechanical Engineering to join the Solid Mechanics and Materials Engineering Group with effect from 1 September 2022 or as soon as possible thereafter. The successful candidate will work at the Department of Engineering Science (Central Oxford, OX1 3PJ). The post is fixed-term for a duration of five years.

The post holder will engage in advanced study and academic research, to lecture and teach undergraduate and graduate students, and contribute to the teaching, research, and academic administration of the Department in the broad field of Mechanics of Materials. They will lead independent research projects or specific areas of research within a broad programme.

The successful candidate will hold a PhD/DPhil in a relevant field, with post qualification research experience at a higher level, including a strong publication record, the ability to develop and to lead a research group, an aptitude and interest for teaching, and good communication skills.
