Funded PhD positions in impact biomechanics within the Department of Biomedical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering at University of Texas at San Antonio

PhD positions are available within the Department of Biomedical Engineering or the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Texas at San Antonio in the area of experimental impact biomechanics research focusing on material system design and injury protection technologies. The PhD student will be working as part of a team exploring various aspects of both impact biomechanics, sensors, and injury protection design. Experience in impact mechanics, metamaterial, lattice structure design, 3D printing, finite element modeling and strong knowledge in mechanical and material engineering are highly desired. Candidates with experience in CAD software, finite element software and programming languages such as MATLAB are encouraged to apply: Successful applicants will have a B.S. or M.S. degree in either Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Material Science, or a related engineering field.

Interested candidates should send a curriculum vitae, transcripts along with the contact information of three references that could be contacted. Please email applications to: Dr. Morteza Seidi at morteza.seidi@utsa.edu. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
