PhD position in Smart and Functional Materials at Mahindra University, India
We are looking for an enthusiastic student who is interested in working in the field of smart and functional materials, in the department of mechanical engineering at Mahindra University in Hyderabad, India. The selected candidate will have the opportunity to conduct a bottom-up research towards developing a novel “active” composite. The research lifecycle encompasses modelling & simulation, design optimization, experimentation & validation of the composite.
Potential candidates will have a strong background in solid mechanics, at least a basic knowledge of FEM and experimental procedures. The project is envisaged to be end to end in scope that is, from design to product. Typical timeline for project completion and obtaining a PhD degree would be about 3-4 years. Those with a master’s degree are preferred but not required.
Mahindra University is located on 125 acres of area with plenty of trees and in a serene environment away from the city’s bustle. It is housed within the premises of one of India’s largest software firms, TechMahindra. On-campus housing along with food is available.
