PhD openings at UT Austin (mechanics of soft materials)

We have funded Ph.D. positions available in the area of computational mechanics/applied mechanics/soft materials for Fall 2023 at UT Austin.

The students can choose to enroll in Engineering Mechanics (EM) or Civil, Architectural, and Environmental Engineering (CAEE). 

For CAEE, the deadline to send an application is December 15: https://www.caee.utexas.edu/graduate/admissions (select MUSE group as your primary choice) 

For EM, the deadline to send an application is December 1: To submit your application for Engineering Mechanics, go to https://www.ae.utexas.edu/graduate-programs/admissions (mention my name in your statement of purpose/application)

Some background in nonlinear solid mechanics, linear algebra, and numerical methods (finite element method and/or isogeometric analysis) is preferable, but not required!
