Applications are invited for a Ph.D. position in the area of theoretical/computational solid mechanics. Some topics of research interest are elasticity theory, wave propagation, dynamic fracture and friction, and earthquake dynamics. A good background in mathematical modeling, applied mathematics and scientific computing is required.
Eligibility: First class M.E./M.Tech./M.S. in Mechanical/Civil Engineering/Applied Mechanics or M.Sc. in Physics or M.Sc. in Mathematics. Exceptional B. Tech. candidates in Mechanical/Civil will also be considered. Candidates who have qualified GATE/CSIR-UGC NET/DST INSPIRE will be given preference.
Stipend: Inclusive of boarding and lodging, equivalent to Rs. 45,000 per month
