The Structural Optimization research group at Technion (PI Oded Amir) invites applications for a PhD position in the field of Topology Optimization using Iso Geometric Analysis. The position is part of a research project funded by the Israeli Science Foundation (ISF).
The project
The project will involve the following challenges and opportunities:
· Iso Geometric Analysis on precise evolving boundaries with untrimming and refinement
· Multi-material and multi-physics topology optimization
· Analytical sensitivity analysis
The position is for a full PhD (42-48 months) with a full scholarship.

Qualifications
The expected skills and qualifications are:
· MSc degree in a related area of engineering (mechanical, civil/structural, aeronautical)
· Strong background in applied mechanics and computational mechanics, in particular finite element methods, acquaintance with spline bases an advantage
· Proficiency in C/C++ programming, experience with parallel computing an advantage
