Postdoc on multi-physics modelling of solid-state batteries at Imperial College London

The Mechanics of Infrastructure Materials research group is looking to hire a Postdoctoral Research Associate (PDRA) to work on multi-physics continuum modelling of solid-state batteries. The postdoc will be co-supervised by Dr Emilio Martínez-Pañeda (Mechanics of Materials) and by Prof Greg Offer and Dr Monica Marinescu from Imperial's Battery group. Salary: £43,093 – £50,834. The PDRA will have access to state-of-the-art HPC facilities and will also have the opportunity to (co-)supervise PhD and MSc Theses. Interested applicants are encouraged to submit their applications as soon as possible, as reviewing of applications will start immediately. Requirements:

- A PhD in engineering, mathematics, physics, materials science, or other closely-related disciplines.

- Enthusiasm and hands-on attitude

- Excellent English writing and communication skills

In addition, a competitive candidate for this role should demonstrate one or several of the following desirable (non-essential) qualifications:

- Experience in finite element modelling

- Experience in multi-physics modelling

- Experience in the use of COMSOL Multi-physics

- Experience in modelling coupled chemo-mechanical problems at the continuum scale

- Experience in computational mechanics
