PhD position in scientific machine learning for additive manufacturing at Worcester Polytechnic Institute

A fully-funded Ph.D. position is available in the lab of smart manufacturing and smart materials at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) in the area of scientific machine learning and additive manufacturing. Our research concentrates on the development of physics-constrained machine learning and its application for functional materials design, and multiscale and multiphysics modeling for AM.

 

Required Qualifications:

·        A B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, or a related field. M.S. with project experience is a plus.

·        Broad Knowledge in machine learning, computational mechanics, topology optimization, and metal AM.

·        Skills in Pytorch, Tensorflow, C/C++, and MATLAB. Experience in MPI/OpenMP and CUDA is a plus.
