NSF Program Director: Mechanics of Materials and Structures
Dear Applied Mechanics Peers and Friends,
It is that time again. We are looking for one of you brilliant minds to be the next program director of the Mechanics of Materials and Structures (MoMS) program at the National Science Foundation (NSF).
This is a rotator position that could last up to a maximum of four years. The MoMS program is part of the Mechanics and Engineering Materials (MEM) Cluster and is managed by an interdisciplinary team of Program Directors (currently Wendy Crone, Laurel Kuxhaus, Lucy Zhang, and I) who also participate in cross-cutting initiatives within NSF, as well as in interagency working groups. A competitive candidate will have a background or familiarity with a wide range of topics related to the scope of the MoMS program. Expertise in the mechanics of biological systems is also desirable.
For more information on the vacancy, see here: https://new.nsf.gov/careers/openings/eng/cmmi/cmmi-2023-95884.
