The School of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Cornell University (Ithaca campus) invites applications for a faculty position (all ranks considered) in the broad areas of natural and engineered systems and their robustness, resiliency and sustainability in the face of climate change and extreme events.  Computational, theoretical, or experimental research programs are encouraged. In general, we prioritize the overall originality and promise of the applicant's work, rather than the sub-area of specialization. This includes fundamental science that informs applied research fields as well as impactful applied research. Details are provided in the document attached.

Applications must be submitted online on the Academic Jobs Online website.

Review of applications will begin Dec 10, 2023 and will continue until the position is filled.

Applicants should submit a curriculum vitae, a research statement (two pages maximum) and a teaching statement (two pages maximum). We also ask applicants for all faculty positions to share their experiences and/or approaches (past, current, or future) to fostering learning, research service, and/or outreach in a diverse community. Applicants may choose to submit a stand-alone statement (two pages maximum) or embed the information in other parts of their application materials. In addition to the statements, candidates should include one to three publications or manuscripts, and provide contact information for at least three references.
