Extreme Mechanics Letters is pleased to announce the Recipients of the 2023 EML Young Investigator Award
Extreme Mechanics Letters (EML) honors the best young researchers who have published their highly impactful papers in EML by bestowing upon them the EML Young Investigator Award (YIA). The winners of the EML YIA will be presented a certificate, an honorarium, and an opportunity to give an EML Webinar.
This year, we received 7 nominations of extremely highly impactful young researchers whose nominated papers were published in EML in Volumes 57-62, from 2022 to 2023. We are very pleased to announce the 2 Winners of the 2023 Extreme Mechanics Letters Young Investigator Award (in alphabetical order).
Evgueni T. Filipov, Associate Professor, University of Michigan, USA
Dr. Filipov was selected based on his paper “Stiffening multi-stable origami tubes by outward popping of creases”, Extreme Mechanics Letters, Volume 58, P. 101941 (2023).
Mingchao Liu, Assistant Professor, University of Birmingham, UK
Dr. Liu was selected based on his 2 papers “Modeling of magnetic cilia carpet robots using discrete differential geometry formulation”, Extreme Mechanics Letters, Volume 59, P. 101967 (2023) and “A discrete model for the geometrically nonlinear mechanics of hard-magnetic slender structures”, Extreme Mechanics Letters, Volume 59, P. 101977 (2023).
The winning papers are freely available for you to read online until 31 December 2024.
