Postdoc position on computational mechanics available at RPI

My lab has a postdoc position open, start immediately. U.S. Citizen preferred.

Qualifications:

 

o   Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or related fields

o   Expertise in computational mechanics, with deep understanding of finite element theory and implementation

o   Deep knowledge in mechanics of materials and/or fluid mechanics

o   Proficiency in C++ programming 

o   Strong abilities in code development and maintenance using Git 

o   Strong independent and critical thinking skills with commitment to excellence in research

 

Responsibilities:

 

o   Develop novel numerical methods and algorithms in understanding multiphysics interactions in engineering applications

o   Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, presenting findings and contributing to project discussions

o   Mentor graduate and undergraduate students 

o   Contribute to the publication of research findings in top-tier journals and conferences
