Details of Position: We invite applications for full-time postdoctoral research associate to explore the interplay between deep/machine learning and computational science and engineering. The application must have excellent communication, writing, and presentation skills. The candidate will work with a multidisciplinary team to develop Mechanistic Computational Intelligence (MCI) - from theoretical development to technology transfer, specifically, the emerging engineering software 2.0. An example that we are researching is the convolutional hierarchical deep neural network (C-HIDENN) technology that unifies learning, calibration, inverse design, and solving (e.g., integration into the finite element and finite volume commercial software).

Education Background

1. Theoretical and applied mechanics and mathematics
2. Linear and nonlinear finite element and meshfree methods
3. Programming (Python, C++) and algorithm development
4. Experience with ANSYS and user integration through MAPDL and/or similar experience with 3DS.COM/SIMULIA
5. Scientific machine learning and parallel computing using both CPU and GPU

Minimum Qualifications: PhD or MS with industrial experience in Computational Engineering with machine learning background
