Postdoctoral Research Position in Machine Learning-Assisted Polymer Design

The Department of Mechanical Engineering at Southern University and A&M College (SU), in collaboration with the Department of Mechanical Industrial Engineering at Louisiana State University (LSU), is seeking a motivated postdoctoral researcher. The research will focus on the design of multifunctional polymers, including shape memory polymers, vitrimers, and flame-retardant materials, utilizing advanced machine learning techniques.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct research in machine learning-assisted polymer design.

• Explore molecular dynamic simulations for polymer development.

• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams across SU and LSU.

Qualifications:

• Ph.D. in Material Science, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.

• Strong background in machine learning for new material design or molecular dynamic simulations of polymers.

• Demonstrated experience in polymer research and computational modeling.

Position Details:

• Location: Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

• Salary: $ 50,000/y+Fringe benefits.

• Start Date: 10/2024.

• Duration:  Up to 4 years, based on performance.
