Postdoc Opening in Computational Materials Research

 

Qualifications:

 

o   Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or related fields

o   Proficiency in finite element modeling and simulation

o   Substantial experience with computational mechanics, fracture mechanics, and machine learning

o   Strong abilities in code development and use finite element software packages

o   Strong independent and critical thinking skills with commitment to excellence in research

o   Have ability to maintain accurate and detailed records, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, knowledge of and ability to pay strict attention to research protocols

 

Responsibilities:

 

o   Develop machine learning accelerated design and discovery simulation models, methods, and algorithms in better understanding the behaviors and properties of environmental barrier coatings 

o   Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, presenting findings and contributing to project discussions

o   Mentor graduate and undergraduate students 

o   Contribute to the publication of research findings in top-tier journals and conferences
