postdoc position in the area of crystal plasticity and finite element modeling
Applications are invited for a 2-year postdoc position in the area of crystal plasticity and finite element modeling of advanced materials. This position is a full-time position at the University of Western Ontario, Canada, and the selected applicant can start effective immediately.
The aim of the project is to understand the fracture of advanced materials under various thermomechanical loads and irradiation environments. The selected applicant will collaborate with other group members of Multiscale Deformation Lab.
Applicants will be assessed based on how they meet the following criteria:
· Prior publications in relevant research area, i.e, crystal plasticity, finite element modeling and fracture mechanics.
· Excellent degree in the relevant discipline
· Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
The following qualities are desirable:
· Strong background in fracture mechanics, and modeling deformation mechanisms
· Strong background in crystal plasticity modeling.
· Ability to program in Fortran, MATLAB, and Python.
· Ability to work in a collaborative environment.
