PhD Positions in Mechanics at Boston University

Submitted by Harold S. Park on

I am looking to recruit 1-2 PhD students to start at the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Boston University in Fall (September) 2025.  I am interested in working with students with a background and passion for computational and applied mechanics at the continuum scale, applied to modern scientific problems.  My specific recent research interests lie in: (1) Elastogranular mechanics; (2) Non-traditional forms of computing and physical intelligence; (3) Topological mechanics and dynamics; (4) Coupled physics phenomena.  My work is generally collaborative with other experimentalists and theorists.

More details on past and current work can be found on my website:

Interested students should contact Prof. Park directly (parkhs [at] bu.edu (parkhs AT bu.edu)), with a CV/resume and a brief description of your research background and interests, to determine suitability for the PhD program.
