RAA, Inc. is seeking candidates
for the position described below:
Title of Position: Manager, Life Management
Type of Position: Full-time, permanent Company: RAA Client
Location: Houston,
TX
Responsibilities: Manage a team of engineers responsible
for the reliability and life management of the mechanical sub-assemblies
comprising bottom hole drilling systems. Specifically, this group will:
- Develop stress and life models
to estimate damage accumulation and remaining life for various failure
mechanisms. - Validate and update predictive
models using operational mission profiles, down-hole boundary conditions
and part condition data. - Use predictive models to
evaluate performance of existing products for the purpose of improving current
and future designs. - Make recommendations to optimize
tool utilization, to develop effective repair and maintenance practices,
and to create a proactive part replacement policy. - Support Design Engineering in
the evaluation of root causes and in the development of corrective action
for field issues. - Direct the offshore team to
support the above activities.
The emphasis in
this group will be on the understanding of component behavior and the
prevention of complex fatigue & fracture mechanisms.
Requirements:
- Strong written and
oral communication and presentation skills. - Strong analytical and
problem solving skills. Strong cross-functional integration and
teaming skills. - Demonstrated team and project
leadership skills, including project planning, resourcing, team building,
and ownership.
Education, Experience and Training:
- BS in Mechanical
Engineering or Applied Mechanics; MS preferred. - 10+ years experience
in mechanical design and/or life management in the Oil and Gas industry or
related field. - 2+ years experience as
a manager. - Background in low
cycle fatigue, crack growth, dynamics and interaction effects. - Proven experience with
industrial finite element model development and analysis. - Strong background in
probability and statistics. - Familiar with
vibration theory; fluid flow and heat transfer.
Compensation/Benefits:
·
$90K - $130K per
year, depending on background.
