A postdoc position is available in the computer-aided engineering research lab at the University of Cincinnati. The research will focus on modeling and simulation of nonlinear material responses such as spallation in high-temperature alloys under laser shock peening. The candidate shall have a Ph.D. degree in mechanics, mechanical engineering, material science or related areas with emphasis on material modeling. Past experiences with finite element methods and computer programming using fortran, C or C++ are highly desired. The duration of the position is two years and the candidate will have the opportunity to work with industries and government agencies. Green-card or US citizenship is required for this project. Interested applicants shall send a resume with research statement and references to dong.qian@uc.edu
