The Institute of High Performance Computing (IHPC), a member of the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR) in Singapore, invites applications for available position for Research Engineer / Research Officer in the field of Fluid Structure Interaction (FSI).
FSI group is looking for a researcher who is interested in developing a structural(CSD) code for FSI purposes. A fully-coupled CFD-CSD code will be developed within the next two years. We are at a relatively early stage. Though the CFD and CSD codes are in place, further improvements are required. Efforts are also required to develop the coupling module, which will generally accept any CFD/CSD code written in FORTRAN or C++.Subsequently, development will also be required in parallelisation, pre- and post-processing.
Candidates with strong background in Solid mechanics, finite element, discontinuous Galerkin, finite volume and programming skills (C++, FORTRAN) are welcome.
Specific qualifications are:
1) a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in Computational Mechanics, Solid Mechanics, Numerical methods in engineering or a related discipline,
2) demonstrated ability to conduct scholarly research, as evidenced by a thesis or publications in top-tier international journals, and
