Mechanical response of polymer composites under simple shear loading

Submitted by Andri Andriyana on

I am currently performing simple shear tests using the Iosipescu-like fixture and specimens.  The specimens were cut from injection molded plates made from a short fiber reinforced thermoplastic (a polymer composite). As you all know, the mechanical response depends highly on the specimen orientation with respect to the flow direction during injection process (since flow will dictate fiber orientation). Can anyone tell me (or refer me to any article) how the shear stress response will vary over different orientation with respect to the flow?  I have some testing results; however I‘m not even sure how to check if they are correct.

Thanks!
