Faculty Positions in Mechanical Science and Engineering

 The Department of Mechanical Science and Engineering at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign is actively seeking candidates for faculty positions in all areas of mechanical science and engineering. This includes candidates whose backgrounds may be in another area of engineering, but whose interests and expertise will enhance the department’s commitment to strengthening its interdisciplinary collaborations in emerging research areas of mechanical science and engineering. Information about the department can be found at the department’s website  http://mechse.illinois.edu/.  Candidates are sought for full-time, tenure-track positions at all professorial ranks.  Senior-level appointments will be considered for persons of outstanding achievement. The Department welcomes applications from candidates with diverse backgrounds, including those from historically under-represented groups.  Successful candidates are expected to teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels, establish and maintain an active, independent research program, and provide service to the department, the university and the profession. A doctoral degree is required, and salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. Full consideration will be given to applications received by February 15, 2010. Applications received after that date will be considered until positions are filled.  Interviews may take place before the given date; however, no decisions will be made until after that time.
