Career Advice

Hi I am seeking career advice. I am 31 and looking forward to working professionally on FEM and computational mechanics. When I finished my Meng Mechanical Engineering back in 2005 I worked at an institute (unpaid) and programmed some codes on discrete element method but shortly found a job in a oil engineering company in their stress analysis department. Unfortunately I was never placed in that department because the company had other needs (I was placed in the Material Department as a senior Material engineer)

After 2 years I couldn’t wait any more  so left to fulfill my mandatory military
service and when finished with that I did a Msc in Applied Mechanics

Now I am finishing my thesis. I made new
Macroelements I don’t know if there will be any papers on that because I am  not sure if anything else has been published.
I programmed these macroelements and tested them in a disk under antidiametrical
tension. The tests were with FEM and boundary method.

For my Meng thesis I programmed the EFG
Meshless method and tested it

I would really like to find something around
computational mechanics ,FEM  and
programming them.

Any advise?

I don't really get what you are trying to say. There are many companies that hire code-writer for FEM. Are you asking for direction or job opportunity?

I like to solve problems with computational mechanics or to write codes for
new methods

I want to work or do a Phd on this. From what i see in my country (Greece)
it is difficult to do a Phd and there are no jobs here on this subject

But i do not know how to find opportunities in other countries. So
what I want is someone to show me how to find opportunities (Jobs, R&D or
Phd).
