Torsion in Trapezoidal bars

Hi evrey body,

Does anybody have an idea for solving torsion equation for trapezoidal bars? Or any references? For rectangular bars Timoshenko completely did it in in "Theory of Elasticity" pages 309-313, but I could not find any references for trapezoidal cross section.

I don't think you can solve this problem analytically. The best best will be to use a finite-element cross-sectional analysis tool, such as VABS to solve the torsion problem to find the torsional stiffness, and recover the 3D stresses under an applied torque or twist.
