Post-doctoral positions at UCSB in mechanics

Submitted by mrb3h on

The Materials Department and the Department of Mechanical Engineering at UCSB invites applications for post-doctoral fellowships in computational mechanics, with an emphasis on (1) micromechanics of layered systems and (2) high temperature composites. The position involves significant collaboration with a wide variety of colleagues working on many aspects of structural materials, including those in industry and other academic institutions. Preference will be given to applicants with a strong track record of publication.  Pending the availability of funding, we anticipate filling two positions as quickly as possible: applications will be reviewed until August 30th, 2010.  A single PDF file containing (1) a single-paged cover letter (indicating possible start-date and very brief summary of research accomplishments) (2) complete c.v. and (3) contact details for at least three references should be emailed to Prof. Matthew Begley, at begley [at] engr.ucsb.edu (begley[at]engr[dot]ucsb[dot]edu).
