Faculty Position in Nanomechanics at Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level

The Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering at Northeastern University invites applications and nominations for a tenure-track/tenured faculty position beginning in September 2011 at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level.  Candidates are sought to expand the department’s research efforts in nanotechnology.  Applicants at the senior levels are expected to have well-established, well-funded, and internationally recognized research programs.  The position is in the general area of Nanotechnology, preferably with an emphasis in mechanics. Excellence in teaching is also expected.  Applications will be reviewed until the position is filled.  Northeastern is home to the NSF Nanoscale Science and Engineering Center for High-rate Nanomanufacturing. Northeastern is also the recipient of an NSF-funded ADVANCE grant for promoting the careers of women in engineering and science.  A doctorate in mechanical engineering or in a closely related field is required.
