Dear Colleagues,

I would like to bring to your notice the mini-symposium on "Emerging computational methods for transient non-linear problems with multiple temporal scales" at the 11th US National Congress on Computational Mechanics (http://usnccm.org/). The conference will be held at Minneapolis, Minnesota from July 25-29, 2011.

I invite you to contribute and participate in this mini-symposium as appropriate. Please note that the last date for abstract submission is January 31, 2011. For your convenience, here is a link for abstract submission:

http://precis.preciscentral.com/User/UserLogin.asp?EventID=66368270&bhcp=1

The mini-symposium abstract is attached and other relevant information is available at the conference website (http://usnccm.org/). A summary of the mini-symposium topics is as follows:

Spatial & temporal multi-scale methods; Time integration methods; multi-rate, multi-time-step, mixed implicit-explicit methods; Methods for transient coupled-field problems; Dynamics of discrete-to-continuum coupled models; Dynamics of structural theories such as beams, plates and shells involving 3-D large rotations and deformations; Parallelization of multi-scale methods; Time-parallel methods etc.

Looking forward to an exciting mini-symposium and conference!

Best regards,

Arun Prakash (Purdue University)

and

Kalyana Nakshatrala (Texas A&M University)
