## BENDING MOMENT DIAGRAM IN ABAQUS

I have created a channel beam using 3D shell elements. It is subjected to two point loading each at 1/3rd length. I have performed STATIC RIKS analysis. Is it possible to draw bending moment diagram for this model? Orelse if i use section moments how can i interpret the maximum moment?

I have carried out eigen buckling analysis of cylindrical shell under axial compression under unit load  using abaqus in model-1 and in model -2 i carried out riks analysis gave imperfection 0.2mm fotr shell thickness 2mm radius 0.25m,h=0.5 m after the 100 increment the the shell is subjected to load which is obtained from first buckling load in first mode  here how to get the collapse load

## low reynolds number flow over a capsule in fluent

I've been trying to simulate flow conditions at 100 km altitude over a re entry capsule in fluent.

Conditions are

Temperature:
168.7219
K

Density = 0.000000577 Kg/m3

Pressure = 0.0289 N/m

I tried using laminar and k-w model. The solution does not converge even after 50000 iterations using the density based solver and ideal gas equation.

Is there a way to go about it?

i have simulated welding in 2D model for beam attached with cover plates at both the flanges using Abaqus, now i want to use the same residual stress distribution for whole 3D cover plated beam with same cross-section,so that i can find load carring capacity of beam.

but i am not sure, is it possible to find stresses in 2D model then use the same residual stress in 3D model? i try using initial state and restart option but it is not reading the same stresses for whole lenght.so is there any other way of doing this??

## RPIM for beam modeling as a 1-dimensional structure

I want to model a beam as a 1D structure using radial point interpolation meshfree method. there are expalnations in the chapter 10 of "meshfree method moving..." by Prof.Liu about PIM for beam modeling and not for RPIM. in PIM modelling we can consider 2*(number of nodes in support domain) terms of polynomials for extraction of moment matrix RQ because of the deflection and rotation dof in each node but it is not applicable for RPIM. what is the solution for overcomming to this problem?  could you help me about the shape function construction for this problem?

Hello dear all,

for my master's thesis I'd like to write a simple VUMAT for a material with nearly zero compression stiffness.

So for a better understanding of VUMAT subroutines I did the ABQ tutorial for a VUMAT with isotropic, isothermal elastic material behaviour and compared the results with the built-in material definition.

There is a discrepancy of almost 35% of the S11 stress. ABQ Manual says that both times the Green-Naghdi stress-rate formulation is used.

Why are the results not the same? After hours of trying I still could not find the solution!
