Curvature matters!

In a recent article in Acta Materialia ("Atom probe informed simulations of dislocation-precipitate interactions reveal the importance of local interface curvature" http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S1359645415002268 ) we showed how the interface curvature influences dislocation - precipitate interactions.

Master’s (Research)/Ph.D position available in Aerospace Engineering at Texas A&M

A Ph.D. position is available at Texas A&M University in the Aerospace department to work on interactions between fatigue and creep (permanent deformation due to a constant mechanical stress applied) at high temperature in a superalloy. More information are in the attached file.

The candidate should have obtained a Bachelor’s or a Master's degree with a strong background in materials science, mechanical engineering or any related field. An interest for both experimental and numerical approaches is expected from the successful candidate.
