Hi
iMechanica,

For my
graduation project I need to model the cracking behavior of a concrete beam in
bending (To simulate delamination of Steel Reinforced Polymer).

However I’m
relative new to FEM, I’m using Abaqus 6.10 (and have 6.11 available).

To get used
to the modeling of cracking behavior I started with a simple example, as described
in:

Alfaro, M.
Suiker, A. (2010) Transverse Failure Behavior of Fibre-epoxy Systems, Journal
of Composite Materials, Vol. 44, No. 12/2010.

Constitutive law

Submitted by mh_Ghayoor on

Hello every body

i need constitutive law for an ortotrhtopic material for plane strain condition for 90 degree layups.

i derived it from 3D constitutive law equation from below formulation

S = [T2]^-1 [C] [T1]

which C are stiffness matrix, T2 and T1 are transformation matrix

i need this equation for stress-strain behaviour at thickness direction (x-z plane) but my results dosent agree with ansys sofwtware

could any body help me, plz?

FEAP UEL - Infinite Displacements?

Hi all,

I am stuck with a problem while starting to learn programming UEL in FEAP.

As a starting point, I programmed Isotropic Linear Elastic element (3D 8 node linear interpolation/shape functions), with one-point integration.

Before running this UEL, I wrote a simple 8 element input file and used FEAP standard Solid element (ELAStic, ISOtropic), the results for this input file were nice.

However when I ran the analysis for this input file with my UEL (USER 04), the displacements were unbelievable (x10^16).

SIF Accuracy - Abaqus XFEM

Submitted by mcgrete on

Hello,

 I understand from word of mouth, as well as an extensive study/Master'sThesis (http://publications.lib.chalmers.se/records/fulltext/164269.pdf), that Abaqus XFEM formulation works, but that processing of results to obtain reported SIF (KI, KII, KIII, not sure about J, others) are in error due to apparent bugs in Abaqus's algorithm to calculate the SIFs.

vumat problem

Submitted by IUT student on

Hi

my problem is to define initial value for solution dependent state varibales in Vumat.when I define them in .log file the same as help,it doesn,t work and the error is your'e defining initial condition for element zero while this elemet doesn, exist.what can I do for solving this prolem.

thanks alot

Pordon me if i couldn't reach my intention correctly.

You know that I have the functional dependence. For every elastic plastic property I have its termal function.

for example:

E=E(T), NU=NU(T), Syield=Syield(T).

But my question is that is it correct to define:

T=temp

and then

write Those function as props

Props(1)=E(T), etc.

or I ought to dedine the properties at several temprature separately and then define the strains and stresses respectively??

for example:

at T=T0

Dear ALL

I have this PDF and I have some information at this coding but have not information about the temprature dependent material properties.

what can I do??

sorry for that

For example see this function:

E(T)=E0*T^2+A*T+ ....

What can I define this type of Function??

Is my statement true? Can I do alike nonisotermal behaviour of the material???

 Please help me

 Thanks so much

Regards
