Abaqus - simulation non-destructive testing (ultrasonic) - pipe crack

Submitted by Ibraheem S. Ab… on

Dear Sir,

My name is Ibraheem. I am a researcher doing my master degree. In my model I am using ABAQUS for simulating a crack detection in a pipe with ultrasonic testing. I have the following software problems:

1- How to implement the acoustic medium with the tested pipe structure using ABAQUS.

2- Which is best:to use for my model shock or the direct solution stedy state dynamic analysis and how can I implement the best of them.

Hi all,

I'm trying to run a nonlinear (elastic for now) buckling analysis in ANSYS. Basically I have a thin cylindrical shell (made up of SHELL181). fixed at one end (rigid) and applied force and/or displacement specified on the other end to make it buckle.

I have pretty much tried all options. These were:

i) Linear buckling (Eigenbuckling)

ii) Displacement controlled buckling with a lateral point force to provide eccentricity/imperfection.

iii)Force controlled buckling with, again, a lateral point force (arc-length method)

proceddure to solve the problem in ansys

 Hi, this is Ravindra

I am doing my M.Tech project in JNNCE college Shimoga, Karnataka.

I am facing some problem with the ansys, my problem is to solve the 3D rotational problem in ansys, in this the constraining and the loads are the major problem im not able to solve this problem can you guide me.

Can somebody suggest a general-purpose object oriented design of the finite element?

Submitted by Wenbin Yu on

I am looking into object oriented programing of the finite element method. I don't know whether somebody can provide a general-purpose oop design of a general finite element program, say a linear static analysis of a 3D solid. Or somebody who are experienced in this field point out some good references for this purpose. It will be better if the oop design is language free, i.e. not directly related with implementation in a specific language such as c++. Thanks in advance.
