PhD position as MSCA Fellow in the FibReLoop project

Submitted by yentlswolfs on

We have an open PhD position as MSCA Fellow in the FibReLoop project (see full description of this project at the end of this post). This position will be hosted by the Composite Materials Group at KU Leuven (www.composites-kuleuven.be). The title is: Recycling and re-using continuous carbon fibres from filament-wound Elium products

You can find full details and how to apply here: https://fibreloop.polimi.it/?page_id=2.

Marie Sklodowska-Curie PhD positions related to fibre-hybrid composites

Submitted by yentlswolfs on

We have a range of open PhD positions within the HyFiSyn Marie Sklodowska-Curie European Training Network. These projects are all related to fibre-hybrid composites. You can find all the details on www.hyfisyn.eu/open-positions. Applications should go through our website.

Best regards,
Dr. Yentl Swolfs
Coordinator of the HyFiSyn project

PhD/post-doc on development of complex geometry reduced order models for multi-scale permeability simulation

Submitted by yentlswolfs on

This research focuses on the development of model order reduction methods to speed up the (repeated) multiscale prediction of permeability in composite manufacturing processes. The permeability of a composite material has a very large impact on the production process of components. It is therefore required to have an accurate knowledge and understanding of the permeability, which depends on the micro- and meso-scale geometry, in order to have a robust manufacturing process.

PhD position "Microscale matrix and interfacial properties of fibre-reinforced composites" at Weizmann Institute of Science

Submitted by yentlswolfs on

Our partner Weizmann Institute Science in Israel is currently trying to fill a PhD position for the FiBreMoD project. The title of the PhD project is "Microscale matrix and interfacial properties of fibre-reinforced composites", and will be supervised by Prof. Daniel Wagner. If you are an enthusiastic and motivated candidate with a background in Materials Science, Composites, Mechanics, or Chemistry/Chemical Engineering, then you should consider applying.
