1. Cross product of two vectors
2. Equilibrium of many-particle system
What is the purpose of the course?
Ensure students have a clear working understanding of the principles of engineering mechanics and an ability to apply them to simple engineering systems.
Brief description of the unit
• Scalar and vector quantities.
• Forces and Newton's laws of motions.
• Kinematics of a particle; co-ordinate systems.
Introduction (27/9, Thursday, 11-12am)
Survey (28/9, Friday, 3-4pm)
Please note that according to the New Grading System, no marks can be gained from answering the following questions. (1 October 2007)
Kinetic and potential energies.
