Topology optimization
Dear members,
I need some suggestions about review articles on "Topology optimization of inelastic materials". If some one have it please forward it to me.
Thanks in advance.

Hello everybody!
I need to make a parametric model in ABAQUS (using script). The ABAQUS scripting user's manual was helpful but i still have some questions about loads. Does anybody have any examples of simple problems or any tutorials ?
Many thanks )
hi.
how to model more than one crack in ansys. (arbitrarily oriented cracks) .
since cracks are arbitrarily oriented i cant use symmetry.
please help me how to procede.
thanking you

Hi
Now I am confused with a problem related to the Cohesive element in ABAQUS.
The model is simple: simulate the Mode II crack propagate at the interface between two materials.
first I creat two parts. and a layer of cohesive element is used to separate them. Tie constraint is employed between the cohesive element and the surrounded materials. But the results show the cohesive element can not break.
I am working on shear failure of sandwich composites.I have modelled a sandwich composite with surface based cohesive behavior in ABAQUS 6.9.Now i have to do damage modelling. For damage initiation i have to describe values of 'peak values of contact stress' or 'peak values of contact separation'.In addn i also have to describe values of 'critical fracture energy' for damage evolution. I don't know how to find these values or where from i will get these values.
I wrote my first experience of using VTK with my hp-FEM code here. This is only with linear tetrahedra. To use VTK for high-order elements seem formidable, altough there's a paper that describes how it can be done. If anyone has experiences with VTK in FEM, I'd love to consult with you.

Hi,
My Name is Moiz. I need some material about composite parts fabrication and the details about how the ply geometry is decided based on strength requirements. Any help would be really appreciated.
Thanks,
Moiz
I'm working on a MSc thesis involving both rigid body (zero energy) & deformational (elastic) modes and their orthogonality wrt mass matrix. I want to prove that elastic modes are mutually orthogonal (done !), that elastic & rigid body modes are so (sort of done !) & that rigid body modes also are so (unsure how ?). Can anyone offer any advice ?
Thanks, John.
Recent experiments have shown that a voltage can induce a large deformation in an elastomer of interpenetrating networks. We describe a model of interpenetrating networks of long and short chains. As the voltage ramps up, the elastomer may undergo a snap-through instability. The network with long chains fills the space and keeps elastomer compliant at small to modest deformation. The network with short chains acts as a safety net that restrains the elastomer from thinning down excessively, averting electrical breakdown. It appears possible to find a dielectric elastomer capable of giant deformation of actuation. You can read the paper, or take a look at the slides posted here.
