The Position:
CSIRO Energy is seeking to appoint a Research Scientist/Engineer in our Hydraulic Fracturing group.
The successful candidate will undertake a range of investigative approaches including laboratory and field experimentation, numerical modelling, and analytical methods in order to improve the effectiveness and define the environmental impact of hydraulic fracturing with an emphasis on applications in coal seam and shale gas stimulation, enhanced geothermal systems, and novel mining methods.
this is a gentle reminder that the deadline for abstract submission (December 1st) for the
Fundamentals of Fracture Symposium at the joint meeting of the German and European Physical Societies (DPG and EPS) in Berlin, March 11-16 2018, is rapidly approaching.

Dr. Benjamin C.K. Tee's research group in the National University of Singapore (NUS) is hiring Master's or Post-doctoral candidates with experience in designing mechatronics systems. We are looking for highly talented and motivated candidates to work on developing new sensing devices. The project will employ advanced mechatronics design and prototyping.
Post-doctoral profile:
Dr. Benjamin C.K. Tee's research group in the National University of Singapore (NUS) is hiring post-doctoral research fellows.
Dear Colleagues:
We cordially invite you to submit your abstract to our mini-symposium (MS# 405) for he 13th World Congress in Computational Mechanics to be held in New York City, USA on July 22-27, 2018.
Our mini-symposium is entitled “Advanced Computational Methods and Theories for Predicting Material Behaviors at Various Length Scales”, and a description can be found at: http://www.wccm2018.org/MS_405
Hello,
I am looking for a practical reference/example on how to implement the perfectly matched layers for mechanical problems in a Finite Element code. I want to model a plate where it is surrounded by the PML from all sides, like a piece of earth crust surrounded by the land. The sources which I see for PML, are mostly in the area of electromagnetics.
Your inputs are appreciated.
