need help on fatigue

Submitted by johnsmart1987 on

hi friends am doin my my project on" FEA of plasticity induced crack closure". my specimen size is 80*80 mm. by using symmetry condition i modelled 1/4th of model in ANSYS. therfore i created 40*40 mm plate. with initial crack length of 4mm.means its MT specimen of 80*80mm with 8 mm crack length, by symmetry condition i modelled 40*40 with 4mm crack lenth.

Post-Doctoral Position in Multiscale Mechanics & Physics (MMC) Lab at University of Texas, Arlington

Submitted by Ashfaq Adnan on

We have an immediate opening for an outstanding post-doctoral fellow in our Multiscale Mechanics& Physics (MMP) Laboratory.  We are broadlyinterested in the fundamental physics and mechanics of nano/bio materials andtheir applications in innovative nano/bio devices. The focus of our current projects include: (i) nanoscale transport phenomena in pharmaceutical, biomedical and biologicalsystems, (ii) mechanics of nanodefects and their applications in engineering nanodevices,(iii) multifunctional and advanced materials for structural applications.

A question on Residual Load Vector in Abaqus User Element Subroutine implementation

Submitted by Gurudutt Chand… on

Hello all,

I am implementing a Finite Shell element in Abaqus as a User Element.  I have a question regarding the Residual Lod vector that has to be defined in the User Element Subroutine.

We know that K(du)=R-f       where R is the external force vector at time t+dt
