一、论坛简介
华中科技大学于2012年创办了“国际青年学者东湖论坛”（以下简称“东湖论坛”），至今已成功举办五届，共邀请到来自30多个国家和地区的近1000名优秀青年学者来校参会。
“东湖论坛”旨在为海内外不同学科领域的青年才俊搭建一个学术交流平台。通过专题报告、学术研讨和人才洽谈等形式，共同探讨国际科技前沿话题，追踪学术热点问题，开拓学术视野，启迪学术灵感，促进交流合作，引进各学科海内外优秀青年人才。
二、学科领域
华中科技大学力学学科2018-2019诚聘海内外优秀人才（含青年千人计划申报）
华中科技大学是教育部直属的全国重点大学，是国家“211工程”和“985工程”建设的高校之一,2017年入选国家双一流建设高校。华中科技大学力学学科有30多年的发展历史、较为雄厚的科研力量和一系列重要的科研成果，培养了一大批杰出的力学人才。力学系拥有力学一级学科，固体力学、动力学与控制、工程力学和流体力学博士学位授予权，工程力学国家级特色专业，力学博士后流动站，湖北省重点学科，工程结构分析与安全评定湖北省重点实验室等学科平台。承办《固体力学学报》和英文国际期刊《Acta Mechanica Solida Sinica》（被SCI收录并向全球发行）。
力学系现有教师50余人，其中长江学者讲座教授1名、国家教学名师1名、优青/青千3名、教授15名、副教授20名。现面向海内外招聘若干名具有固体力学、动力学与控制、流体力学、工程力学、计算力学或新兴交叉力学等研究背景、愿意从事与力学学科相关的教学和（或）科研工作的优秀人才。
1、 千人计划青年项目
Wei Yang, President of The National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), is the recipient of the ASME Koiter Medal in 2017. He will present the Koiter Medal Lecture, titled "Research Landscape for Science and Engineering in Mainland China" at the ASME's 2017 International Mechanical Engineering Congress and Exposition (IMECE 2017)

The organizers of the 2018 SES Conference are currently seeking proposals for symposia.
The 2018 SES conference program is grouped in four tracks:
A number of thematic symposia will be organized in each track to cover the current state of the art in different areas of Engineering Science as well as at the interface between engineering and different sciences.

Hi every body;
I am doing modal analysis on a solid sphere that is filled with water in APDL ANSYS. after seting rane and number of frequencies; when use from unsymm method to earn natural frequencies, I have just two frequency! please help me. How can solve it?

We would like to invite you to submit an abstract to the minsymposium (11) on "Damage of Composites under Impact Loading" at the 2018 International Conference of Damage Mechanics which will be held at Tongji University (Shanghai, China) on July 4-6, 2018. The deadline of short abstract (80 words) is November 15, 2017.

ASME just released its journal information for 2016. Among >30 journals published by ASME, JAM is once again the fastest, with the average review time (including the time for review, authors’ revision, and re-review) to be 42 days. The second fastest ASME journal is 101 days. As a result the impact factor of JAM (for whatever it is worth) exceeds 2.1.
This post is to remind IMECE Tampa attendees that in addition to the many exciting symposia that have been organized by mechanicians for Track 12---the following key events will also take place:
(1) Plenary lectures sponsored by Applied Mechanics Division, will be given by Professors Subra Suresh and Howard Stone, Tuesday morning, Nov 7th, 8-9:30am;
(2) Koiter Medal lecture, to be given by Professor Wei Yang, Tuesday afternoon, 5:30-6:30 pm, Nov 7th, Tue.
