Hey friend

The following information I know about PhD in Germany :

There is a service centre in every part of the world to promote studies in Germany. The centre is DAAD,German Academic Exchange Service in english translation. DAAD has centres in evry part of the world in main cities. You can get more details about DAAD, what they do, where are their regional offices from the link which I have sent earlier. (www.daad.de). If any centre/office of DAAD is accessible to you, you can go there and make any querry regarding admissions. It is free of cost. They do conduct classes too in evry week on some selected months. You can go enquire and attend the classes, where you can gain much much information.

DAAD group conducts interview for the fellows who are willing to study in Germany and provides fellowship called DAAD fellowship. They pay really attractive fellowship. Fellowship is more then enough to stay and pay fees, etc,. They teach you German language too. This information about the fellowship and essential criteria for fellowship is mentioned in the website www.daad.de. To apply for fellowship one should be having admission letter in hand.

You can browse the link for various universities. Selct your favourite university, check for any admissions going on, if going on you can apply and if you are selected you will get I20 (admission letter). If not, if you are applying for PhD, go to the universities and check whether your selected subject research is going on the university group or not. If any group does the research of your interested field. Check the group details, their contact details will be given (mail id's, phone no.s, fax etc). You forward your SOP (statement of purpose) and CV. Be ready with your certificates scanned, make the recomedation/reference letters ready. If the group people are interested they will reply you. If you are lucky and your Cv is sounding, you may get admission in the group as well as funding too. If you have funding need not to go through DAAD.  If you have no funding ask them for admission letter such that you can try via DAAD. DAAD notification in INDIA comes in the month of November or December. I dont know about other countries but you can always have chech in the link www.daad.de.

Summary: All the information you can get from www.daad.de. Have patience and go through the link.

ok then. All the best.........

Inspiration and genius--one and the same.

Hi,

maybe it is a little late but anyway. You should check out the technical Universities. Plasticity is usually a part of the departement of continuum mechanics which again mostly is a part of the Institut of civil engineering, or mechanical engineering. I would try: Technische Universitaet (TU) Darmstadt (my University), Karlsruher Institute of technologie, TU Braunschweig, TU Muenchen, RWTH Aachen,TU Berlin, TU Hamburg Harburg etc.

Look at the link at Vibrations for more Universities.

If you have any further question contact me.

Hello,

here is a link of the top Univesities in Mechanical Engineering:

http://www.wiwo.de/management-erfolg/die-kompletten-siegerlisten-aller-….

I would take a look at these Universities. Vibrations is not my major subject so I cant tell you that much.

I know that Prof. Hagedorn is a well known specialist of vibrations. The problem is that he is emirated, but the departement is still there. Take a look at the following link:

http://www.dyn.tu-darmstadt.de/home/index.en.jsp

If you need some help dont be hasitant to contact me.

Hi,

Thanks for the link and other information.

Actually I am searching for the PhD position in germany since long time, I have written to so many professor for this but no reply from vibration side. For other topics there are many open positions but I am not interested in that topic thats why facing the problems.

I think you are from the Darmstadt University, Can you please do me a favour that, in your university if there is any prof in Vibration Research group then please give me the email id of that prof directly So that I can contact him.

I need some references of Prof who are having open position in Vibration Research group.

I am expecting some positive information from your side.

Thanks.

hi,

here is the email from the professor, but as I told you he is emirated.

peter.hagedorn [at] dyn.tu-darmstadt.de

But you can ask every assistant out of this group as well. Gottfried Spelsberg-Korspeter is teaching dynamics currently he should know about open positions.

speko [at] dyn.tu-darmstadt.de
