ansys tutorial

hi

how are you?

am doing some analysis with ansys to find out the stresses.and i want to plot the von-mises stresses in a diagram.

and want to know that how ansys can plot a graph or diagram for the stress results.

for example a diagram for "depth vs von-mises stress"

can anyone help me to fix this problem please?

best regards

for a plot in ansys you have to use the time-history processor in ansys..

and to use that you have to set solution controls in the solution.

here you can see the basic procedure to get the graph

http://www.mece.ualberta.ca/tutorials/ansys/IT/NonLinear/NonLinear.html

but in your case you can't get a graph of depth vs. stress directly in ansys. you have to find the stress at the required point independently and then plot it seperately..

Hello Everyone,

I want to analyse a composite structure of E-glass/epoxy resin in different scales. (Micro-Meso-Macro)

First, i model the micro RUC of hexagonal structure with one circular cross section central fibre of unidirectional and four quarter circles at the four corners of the rectangle which represents unidirectional fibers. The area between the fibres was filledup by epoxy resin. Then, i extruded the areas and glued the volumes by boolean operations. I have taken solid45 (8 node brick element) for the analysis and applied different material properties to fiber and resin with mesh attributes>picked volumes.

Now, i want to mesh the model. Here the problem arises. When i go  for mapped meshing i am able to mesh the  volumes of fibers, but not the resin part. It shows the message as "invalid topology of volume".

How to overcome this?

Please help me......

Suggetions are highly appreciable.

Thank you...
