Seismic Analysis

Hi
I am doing seismic analysis of Fluid filled cylindrical steel tanks using FEM. In this analysis I m supposed to find Base Shear and Overturning moment. Steel tank is thin shell and is flexible. For the complete loading of the shell I have its stress field i.e I have Nxx, Nxy, Nyy, Mxx, Mxy, Myy components of the thin shells middle surface. They are per unit length. Using these components how I can find Base Shear and OTM?
Any reference/suggestion for this study....
Thanks in advance
Srinivas

hi .. i want to know how
hi ..
i want to know how you are simulating fluid in your analysis.
for finding base shear and overturing moment. you can make a mass element at the center of base and this mass element is rigidly connected to all the nodes at the base.
boundary conditions should be applied at this mass element. By checking the reaction at this element, one can find the base shear and overturing moment.
Hi Sir.............
Hi Sir.............
Yes I did the same......I have used REACTION only.......I have done analysis in a FEM code called CASTEM. In this software there is a provision for fluid elements....I did the analysis and the results are in good match with published results....
Thanks for the reply....
