Masters in Materials Engineering in GERMANY

Submitted by trupti.arabatti on

Hi, I want to pursue Masters in Materials Engineering with a specialization in composite materials.Could anyone please let me know which universities in Germany are good for this course. Also, whether these courses are offered in English.

Thanks a lot, Panos. But RWTH AAchen does not have any english language courses in Materials/Mechanical Engineering.

CAn you suggest any other colleges? DO u know whether ULM university has a good materials engineering course?

Thanks,

Trupti

Hi Trupti,

I am sure that Aachen Uni offers english taught masters as I have visited the Uni as an exchange student . But it is more specialized in metals rather than composites. Mainly if you are interested in composites, it is better to search
for aerospace departments, not materials ebgineering departments.

http://www.ilr.rwth-aachen.de/index.php?id=72&L=1   (the msc programme is for international students, very nice programme)

http://www.mw.tum.de/index.php?contentpath=n386/n582&lang=en (not so specialized as the above, offered by tu munchen)

In your case I would rather select universities also outside Germany. Delft university is very good in composites , in particular the aerospace department, which developed new materials (like Glare; for large aircrafts with minimum weight). I would try Cranfield University in UK.

Delft might be the best option for you..

Hope that helps,

                 Panos
