Error Message

i'm modeling a three pavement layer with tandem loading in explicite mode. i dont know why aborted that analysing with this message:

"The ratio of deformation speed to wave speed exceeds 1.0000 in at least one element. This usually indicates an error with the model definition. Additional diagnostic information may be found in the message file.

Abaqus/Explicit Analysis exited with an error - Please see the status file for possible error messages if the file exists."

and in warnings that i found this message:

"The option *boundary, type=displacement has been used; check status file between steps for warnings on any jumps prescribed across the steps in displacement values of translational dof. For rotational dof make sure that there are no such jumps. All jumps in displacements across steps are ignored

There are 1 warning messages in the data (.dat) file. Please check the data file for possible errors in the input file.

Boundary conditions are defined at the the nodes contained in node set WarnNodeBcIntersectKinCon. In addition the nodes are also part of a surface involved in kinematic contact. The kinematic contact constraint will be overridden by the boundary conditions in case of a conflict. Penalty contact may be used instead.

The slave surface nodes in node set WarnNodeMassRatio3fix-Step1 have much larger masses than the nodes on the master surface. Significant contact noise may result. Suggested workarounds include setting the WEIGHT parameter so that what was the master surface becomes a pure slave surface in the contact pair, using mass-scaling to adjust the ratio of nodal masses, or using the penalty contact algorithm. See the status file for further details.

Master surface ASSEMBLY__PICKEDSURF23 of contact pair # 1 contains facets with out-of-plane warping of at least 20.000 degrees in increment 80. Large warping that develops during an analysis often corresponds to severe distortion of the underlying elements. It may be appropriate to rerun the analysis with a refined mesh.

Master surface ASSEMBLY__PICKEDSURF11 of contact pair # 1 contains facets with out-of-plane warping of at least 20.000 degrees in increment 120. Large warping that develops during an analysis often corresponds to severe distortion of the underlying elements. It may be appropriate to rerun the analysis with a refined mesh.

The ratio of deformation speed to wave speed in the elements in element set WarnElemDeformRateExceedsRatio-Step1 exceed the warning ratio. Refer to the status file for further details. This message is printed during the first applicable increment, but will not be printed during subsequent increments for the remainder of the step."

what should i do for solving???

Hi, i am working on a 3D simulation of an enclosed cylinder that has pressure loads applied uniformly across apart from one side which is fixed. I am having the same error message as the one you have stated.

I was wondering if you had come up with a solution to fix this error message or a hint as to where i should look for the solution.

Thanks a lot,

Manz_0

You may try decreasing the time rate of application of load.

Hi i have attempted this but the simulation runs on hours on end on the first step and it seems as tho it is struggling with it. I am still receiving the following warning.

The option *boundary, type=displacement has been used; check status file between steps for warnings on any jumps prescribed across the steps in displacement values of translational dof. For rotational dof make sure that there are no such jumps. All jumps in displacements across steps are ignored

I am basically modelling a 3D enclosed cylinder structure made up of kapton membrane. One side of this cylinder has boundary conditions (encastre) while the rest of the cylinder experiences a 100Pa pressure exerting outwards from the cylinder (in essence stretching it by expanding) but somehow i cant get this simluation to work.

I am quite new to abaqus and only in my first year of my PhD. Any help in this matter would be much appreciated.

Thanks for your time and patience, :)

You may try reverting back to the default value of the scaling factor i.e. 1. If the analysis becomes unstable therein, use the 'variable mass scaling'.

Apologies for the delay in reply but your help proved vital and I got it to work, by usin a smaller increment with the load being applied by preiodic amplitude.

Thanks again,

Manny
