If anyone knows please tell me how to define a compression only nonlinear spring in Abaqus,
I can defined a nonlinear connector, but it should works only in compression. When it relaods or in tension I want it to have zero stiffeness.pl help me with this issue

Mentioned below are the keywords related with connector mentioned in input file, But kindly can you tell where should I include this key word, Because when I input this command Abaqus gives an error mentioning " *NOCOMPRESSION, The keyword is misplaced. It can be suboption for the following keyword(s)/level(s): elastic "
*Connector Section, elset=Wire-1-Set-1, behavior=ConnSect-1
Axial,
*Connector Behavior, name=ConnSect-1
*Connector Elasticity, nonlinear, component=1
Also I think in my case I only need when reloading stifeness of
connector to be zero without going through the same path it went, when
loading.

Hello Niluka,
actually my reply should have stated *NO TENSION instead. Where to put keywords is documented in the keywords manual. This command has to inserted after *ELASTIC and its data line. And it can be combined exclusively with linear elasticity.

I found uniaxial connector definition, there i can give compression data as loading data, and no tension then it works. But when I gives unloading data property it still doesn't work. Now only remaining problem is regarding unloading. Anyway thanks a lot for your concern,
I am going to post another comment regarding how to determine mass participation ratio on frequency analysis. If you know please comment there aswell.
